Travel to Turkey

Turkey is one of the best holiday place in the world. It is the place united under Eastern and Western culture for thousands years.

The Anatolian part of Turkey is one of the oldest continually inhabited regions in the world. The earliest Neolithic settlements such as Çatalhöyük (Pottery Neolithic), Çayönü (Pre-Pottery Neolithic A to Pottery Neolithic), Nevali Cori (Pre-Pottery Neolithic B), Hacilar (Pottery Neolithic), Göbekli Tepe (Pre-Pottery Neolithic A) and Mersin are considered to be among the earliest human settlements in the world. It makes Turkey a special place to visit.

Istanbul is one of the most beautiful city in the World. It is the 7th biggest city as population with 13 million people. Istanbul is the only city located on two continents Europe and Asia. For more than 600 years Istanbul is under Turkish control. Lots of people get surprised when they go over to Istanbul because Istanbul is very modern and Western. You should take a boat cruise on Strait of Bosphorus in Istanbul.

IstIklal Avenue will be the best entertainment place for you. You could find whatever you want; boutiques, music stores, bookstores, art galleries, cinemas, theaters, libraries, cafés, pubs, night clubs with live music, historical patisseries, chocolateries and restaurants. Istiklal avenue is surrounded by the unique nineteenth century Turkish architecture.

Italian Sights - Siena

Siena reminds of a garden. Its a wonderful city standing on three scenic hills, with unforgettable views over the city suburbs opened up from their tops. You will like its narrow roadways, parks and ancient architecture. Thanks to this little city Italy got highly reputed for its wonderful medieval architecture. The centre of Siena is like a scenery erected specially for some historic movie. Unlike the other Italian cities, Siena has little Renaissance buildings. Most of its constructions follow strict gothic rules - this adds a dark charm to Siena's image.

The whole city, with Piazza del Campo as its centre, is a piece of art, especially when we speak about its natural surroundings. In 13th and 14th centuries Siena was one of the most prosperous and significant European cities. Lots of beautiful buildings were erected in the 14th century, St. Catherine of Siena, Palazzo Pubblico and Campo among them. The Black Death of 1348 stroke a shattering blow at it - almost one fourth of its population died. Followed by political mess, the plaque was the beginning of the dramatic decline in Siena's life. The city turned into a rural market centre, and it was only tourism that brought it back to prosperity and popularity. The decline is the reason why we see Siena unchanged - this is one of the few Tuscan cities filled with the spirit and atmosphere of the medieval times.

In the 13th century Siena was divided into three parts, and then into 17 more neighborhoods - contrades, which could be compared to small towns, each with its own flag and emblem. Inhabitants of these neighborhoods compete at Palio di Siena - a medieval horse race which takes place July 2nd - August 16th. Ten of the seventeen contrades run in each Palio, the competition takes place at the Piazza del Campo and attracts lots of visitors. Winners are awarded with Palio - a painted flag bearing an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In addition to historical and architectural attractions, Siena is known for painted ceramics and exquisite pastries, cooked by the medieval recipes. When crossing the territory between Piazza del Campo, Church of San Domenico and the Cathderal, you are likely to feel the smell of almond: that is how Riccarelli and Panforte, the famous pastries, smell.

Driving is restricted in many city areas, that is why it is a pleasure to walk around Siena even when it is crowded with tourists. One of the oldest European universities is also found here, which adds a youthful tint to Siena's life. In addition to this, visitors can enjoy a great amount of cultural events: concerts, cinema and theatre performances and sports competitions. One day won't be enough to observe the whole city - without any doubts, it deserves a longer stay.

Things To Do When You Visit Inverness And Loch Ness

The city of Inverness can trace its history back to at least the days of the Picts and has been a stronghold since those times.

It is located where the River Ness joins the North Sea and the river helped to give the city its name. In Gaelic, the word Inverness literally means "mouth of the Ness". If you're keen, you can brush up on your Gaelic: around one in 20 of the locals in Inverness are able to speak this language.

As you've probably guessed, the river flows into Loch Ness. So you could certainly use your visit to Inverness to do a spot of monster watching! The myths and legend surrounding the Loch Ness monster are numerous. The lake is big, with a surface area of nearly 22 square miles and at its deepest point is 754 feet. Which is plenty of space for the famous monster to hide in, especially when you consider that the deepest ever SCUBA dive was only just over 1,000 feet.

Depending on your view of bagpipe music, you will either want to head towards Inverness during September or avoid it like the plague because that is the month that the city hosts the annual Northern Meeting, which is a prestigious competition for solo bagpipers.

If you want to see other Scottish pursuits then you should time your visit to take in the annual Highland Games which attract top notch contestants for such sports as tossing the caber, the stone put, Scottish hammer throwing and sheaf tossing amongst others. These are all ancient sports that still retain their spectacle in today's modern world. The strength of the "heavy" athletes simply has to be seen to be believed. The caber is similar in size to a telephone pole - usually around 16 to 20 feet long and weighing somewhere between 80 and 130 pounds. So don't try this sport at home - the skill you need to even be able to balance a caber let alone throw one through the air in the direction you want it to travel isn't something you can pick up overnight.

Other sports aren't ignored either. Inverness has two football clubs. Caledonian Thistle are members of the Scottish Premier League, so you are assured a top class game.

History fans will want to visit Inverness Castle. This is currently used for the Inverness Sheriff Court and most of its current structure was built in 1836. However, the site has been used for a castle since the 11th century, so it is steeped in history. If you want an extra souvenir, get hold of the Royal Bank of Scotland's £50 note which shows the castle on its reverse side.

When you decide to visit Inverness, do your best to stay in one of the many smaller locally owned and run hotels and guest houses that are available. You'll be assured of a warm Scottish welcome and your host will almost certainly be able to help you by pointing out little known local secrets and places to see that are on or off the beaten track according to your preferences.

Alternative Greek Travel Destinations

Greece can satisfy even the most demanding of its visitors. It has beautiful scenery and great man made establishments, it has sea but also mountains, it has archaeological sites and night clubs as well, it has crowded areas but it also has nice and quite places. The best of all is that all these are not far away from each other. I don't think its an overstatement to say that Greece is a traveler's paradise.

Where can you find such places.

If you want to find fancy restaurants and Hotels and all the comforts a man can get those are the services every known place has and they are actually difficult to miss. Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, Corfu, Crete, Athens, Thessaloniki, Samos are among the most visited destinations in Greece. If you need luxurious accommodations, fancy restaurants, loud music, packed cafes, lots of visitors you can find them here.

Places that are not crowded but still have lot to offer are more difficult to find. There are less services and less money to be gained from visitors and therefore are not heavily promoted. If you are looking for those places don't ask at your local travel agent. Don't arrange a Cruise hoping to find them. The are usually very close to the crowded centers but not much is mentioned of them.

Lots of smaller islands that are not heavily advertised, and island satellites to famous ones usually fall under this category and would be ideal places for people that want to explore the alternative Greece. For the sake of the discussion I am going to mention Gaudos, Paxoi, Fournoi, Sifnos, Ikaria, Chios but this is not extensive by any means. These places are usually recommended from people that have already gone there. If you have not had such recommendations then I would advise you to prepare your trip to the most favorable location leaving some room in your schedule for visiting places that the locals will undoubtedly suggest. An inquiry to a local Greek travel agent or a Greek Habitant might reveal some hidden treasures around the area. Keeping in mind the pros and cons presented right after, one can easily recognize such places.

With quiet destinations you avoid the mass tourism and the noise and you enjoy more the nature and the hospitality of people simple and not caught up at the great rush of our times. Nature is purer and the food is fresher and atmosphere is unspoiled and healthier. The prices are cheaper too. One great disadvantage is that such places don't have many means of transportation to and from them and not to many comforts should be expected when looking for accommodation. Some of them don't even have air connectivity with mainland Greece. They might have boat or bus connection 3-7 times a week from the near by Town.

Travel off high season

Greeks usually take their summer vacation around the 15th of August that is the biggest festivity in the Orthodox Christian world, commemorating the Assumption of Theotokos (Mary the mother of Jesus). Around these days everything gets very busy with boats running full and extra flights being added and all types of accommodation running at full capacity. These period makes for some very tiresome vacation and I would definitely avoid it if I had the choice. Planning either before or after August is probably the smartest thing one can do when traveling to Greece. You do avoid the headaches and prices are a whole lot different.

Almost all destinations in Greece are connected through Athens, so this gives an opportunity to the traveler to explore the Athenian lifestyle and Acropolis if he/she so chooses. Some alternative routes include Italy which has daily direct boat connections to the Ionian islands and Turkey which has daily boat connectivity to the nearby islands of the Aegean.

Arranging your car rental before hand

Small places usually luck the public transportation of the big and famous cities. Buses usually run not very frequently and planning your excursions around them usually is not an easy chore. The more crowded places will probably have cars booked fully for the high season times. So if you are planning on using a car arranging it ahead of time is always good choice.

Two Great Motorcycle Adventures

The Long Way Round

Armed with three BMW R1150GS Adventure bikes, cameras, motorcycle communications devices and a bag full of a sense of daring and spirit, world-renowned Scottish actor Ewan McGregor and his friend and fellow actor/ adventurer, Englishman Charley Boorman, set out for the journey of a lifetime.

Accompanied by cameraman Claudio von Plata, the duo left London on April 14, 2004 and traveled eastwards on their motorcycles until they reached their destination: New York City. All in all, their group rode for more than 3 months, covered 19,000 miles and rode through the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, USA, Canada and New York. The trip, McGregor described, was borne out of their "desire to ride motorbikes for a very long time".

As to be expected, the modern adventurers' trip was neither an easy nor an uneventful one. In Kazakhstan for example, the local police insisted on escorting the group whenever they went. The locals (with the aid of the cops), aware not only of McGregor's popularity but also of the significance of what the duo was trying to do, kept inviting them to parties (invitations which they could not possibly refuse).

During their trip, they were also held at gunpoint twice. One was by local authorities at the Ukranian border who, because they rode ahead of the local TV people filming them, did not recognized the pair and the other by a lone gunman in Kazakhstan, who apparently did it as a joke as he left the terrified travelers laughing.

In Mongolia, they ate a bowl of sheep testicle soup, a native delicacy.

Minor accidents like getting icy-cold water into their engines, machines breaking down, having petrol sprayed into their eyes, getting rear-ended also kept occurring while the two finished their journey.

In spite of these mishaps though, the two look at the 107 days they spent on the road with nothing but fondness and glee. Not only were they able to see and experience firsthand the generosity of the people of the countries they visited, the experiences they shared during the trip also transformed them from "friends, to brothers".

Motorcycle Diaries

While the McGregor's and Boorman's journey can definitely be described as truly adventurous and quite groundbreaking, it was not however, the first of its kind. More than half a century before the Scot and the Englishman traveled around the world, two young men from Argentina, has already embarked on a similar motorcycle adventure.

In 1951, Alberto Granado and Ernesto Guevara, the future Che Guevara, traveled the length of South America starting from their hometown of Alta Gracia. Unlike their modern counterparts who traveled with GPS devices, powerful bikes and motorcycle intercoms, the young Argentinians only had themselves and their rundown 1939 Norton 500 cc (which they dubbed the "Mighty One, the Second"), to depend on.

Despite having to share one old bike (which was not really in its best condition), the duo was able to travel to 24 different locations in 5 different countries.

While McGregor and Boorman's journey opened their eyes to the kindness and generosity of the people of the places they visited, Guevara and Granado saw the poverty and inequality that plagued the countries of South America. This journey and the dire conditions he witnessed helped shape the political views and stance Guevara would later try to spread in South America as Che.

As we know, there are times when a business needs to be relocated. This can cause a great deal of stress to the business owner, apart from the time involved, while the details are taken care of, customers and clients that need to be informed. In order that the move is smooth, without disruption in the business, the employees stability carefully handled - all these issues and various other factors that involve relocation for a business can be handled effectively by professionals dealing with business relocation consulting.

There are different groups, both individual and those that have interests in promoting their sites for businesses, in the hope of making economic gains to the area. Some groups are wholly private and do not have interests in any economic developments. They concentrate on helping the business relocate, and provide them with advice, strategy, and take the entire load of moving and relocating on themselves. This leaves the business free to concentrate in their present location, while their moving needs are taken care of simultaneously by the business relocation consultants.

There are various options to choose for the business that is in the process of moving. Individual needs of clients need to be met, the main focus being the client or customer, who needs to be comfortable with the move. If they have been dealing with the business for many years, they would like to continue to do business. So they need to be comfortable with the move and the location.

They will be prepared to adjust, depending on their rapport with the Company. Employees need to consider the effect on themselves and their families, the mode of transport facilities available to them, the time involved in traveling, the facilities for food, if the area is away from the city - these are considerations that businesses will do well to take into account while handing over their requirements to experts in Business relocation consulting.
